History

Since 1961 international conferences on electrical contacts (ICEC) have been held every 2 years in changing industrial countries.
The 5th International Conference on Electrical Contacts (5th ITK) was the first to be held in Germany in 1970. The conference took place in Munich and was attended by around 600 participants, to date the most successful event of its kind. Further very well attended and efficient conferences followed and were organized by the German Association for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies (VDE).
After many conferences in the United States, Austria, England, France, Japan, Switzerland and most recently in China, this time Dresden, Germany, was chosen as a venue for the coming ICEC 2014.
